Reddish Vale Country park spans 161 hectares along the River Tame in the heart of Stockport. It provides a green corridor linking the town centre with Denton in Tameside, and Woodley.

There are walks, cycle and bridleways that link with the Goyt, Etherow, Saddleworth and Longdendale trails. There are also long distance routes such as the Midshires Way and Transpennine Trail.

Sand martins and kingfishers nest in the river banks. The mill ponds and wetlands are visited by wildfowl including geese, herons, grebes, cormorants, coots and a variety of ducks.
